About Us

Don Juan Romero Huxley, in 1962, achieved the dream of his father to raise cattle known as white French Charolais, acquiring for it the old Hacienda La Nutria in San Juan, Cadereyta, NL Mexico. The first Charolais cows were brought from the Rancho El Canelo de San Fernando Tamaulipas, and in 1973 imported the first consignment of heifers with French champions two bulls, to form what is now the "Full French.

Subsequently, there were more imports of females and males from France, England and Denmark, as well as semen and embryos, to further enrich the genetic value of animals and renewing the outstanding lines of lean production and efficiency in feed conversion and above all, looking for the easy calving of our cows. In La Nutria, the selection targets are planned and conducted on an ongoing basis.

Currently, the technique of embryo transfer is a common practice using cows genetically tested and excelled in their racial characteristics. To this end, we start the analysis of individual data for each animal from birth.

Weights, measures, health and conformation are taken strictly from its source to a comprehensive selection to achieve our ideal of what will be the Future of Charolais.

Currently, the Charolais cattle from Rancho La Nutria is divided into two production areas. One located in the Rancho La Nutria in the municipality of Cadereyta Jimenez NL., a region that has an extreme climate with temperatures ranging from minus 5 degrees centigrade in winter, and temperatures above 40 degrees centigrade in summer. And another production area, located in the Rancho Miramar in the Sierra de Maratinez in the municipality of Soto La Marina Tamaulipas, a region that has a hot and humid tropical climate, in which also grows and develops with efficiency our registered Charolais cattle.

Our Charolais of Rancho La Nutria in Cadereyta Nuevo Leon, has shown an extraordinary ability to produce more meat, and a strong ability to adapt to a wide range of climatic conditions. They have won recognition as an outstanding stock for its excelent productivity in different environments, where we have sold our breeding bulls and cows.
Our Charolais is the best option for achieving the goals of efficient production, because when you inject Charolais genetics in commercial livestock farming, you get great results.

This is to confirm the preference of ranchers for our Charolais cattle, such as genetic improvement of production indexes of any ranch where use our sires and heifers of Rancho La Nutria.

We have diversified our breeding Charolais cattle production. Since decades we have developed this breed in the tropical state of Tamaulipas in the Miramar Ranch.

Since 1970, Don Juan Romero Huxley developed the Charolais through artificial insemination, and from 8 years ago, we implant the embryo transfer with Full French Charolais. We have adapted this breed to tropical zones of high humidity, warmth, and above all, making them resistant to the tick.

Reproductive efficiency, as both males and females Charolais reach puberty at an early age or reproductive function, a feature that is called early.

Hardiness, because our Charolais has demonstrated his extraordinary ability to make efficient use of rough forage to turn it into kilograms of meat, either from natural grazing grassland, or feeding-induced stall.

Gentleness, as they are docile animals which facilitates its handling. This is a great feature that is distinctive of our animals as they suffer less stress for their calm temperament during the implementation of main management practices.

Productivity, because the characteristics of our Charolais cattle most important are: growth, feed conversion efficiency, high increases in weight, good performance in the flesh and a high percentage of lean meat.
